An independent accounting firm is hired to prepare the 990 and the executive director reviews the form for accuracy prior to submission to the service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

Trustees who have a conflict of interest must disclose the interest to the board and be noted in the official minutes. The trustee must also be recused from voting on any matter related to the interest. It is the chairperson's responsibility to address infractions of conflicts of interest and take action to remedy the problem. If it is found that a conflict of interest existed, then members would be informed by letter and information provided on website.

The washington state legislature established a mandatory program to revise the process for funding and providing certain benefits to all school district employees and their dependents. As such, members have enrolled in the state's plan and the organization is liquidating.

FORM 990, PART V, LINE 1 AND 2:

The tacoma school district provides office space and technical support for trust operations. The trust reimburses the tacoma school district for the salaries of the trust's executive director, secretarial staff and benefit technician. As such, the appropriate payroll forms are filed by the tacoma school district.
