“Each chapter sends a voting delegate to a house of delegates meeting twice each calendar year. The house of delegates votes on board officers, chang es to the bylaws and other operations decisions as needed. House members m ay also initiate action before the house of delegates.”

If there is no timely board meeting prior to the return due date, the treasurer, evecutive vice president and the president are provided the return for their review prior to the return being filed.”

“To evergreen district and disseminate what they learned through performing and coaching. Director coaching and education -- educating chorus directors. Provide training in how to teach music and other facets of barbershop harmony and directing. Our chorus director development officer works to provide classes at multiple levels, from assisting beginning directors to master classes for the experienced directors. Officer travel--sending district officers to local chapters to provide both musical and administrative training, counseling, and other assistance as needed.this includes sending officers to support each chapter which sponsors a convention during the year. Providing support for chapters in remote areas is critical. Regional leadership academies--weekend classes to educate local chapter officers in understanding their responsibilities as well as maximizing the opportunities to teach barbershop style music and barbershop quartetting. Multiple classes are held to minimize the amount of travel to attend an academy. Contest & judging --pay for educating current judges maintaining their skills in interpreting the music, sound and stage presence demonstrating the barbershop a capella style. Certified judges provide training sessions at conventions to both choruses and quartets. Encourage members to join the judging community and become certified. Our contest and judging officer travels to each convention to assure all rules are followed. Standing ovation--provide review of show and performances. The reviewer will comment on quality of performance and maintaining the educational purpose of the barbershop harmony society. Communications--provide a website where members and the public can find information about the barbershop harmony musical style. The website can be used to contact others, find coaches, and to market our unique musical style, etc. Provide electronic publications which are available to all and provide more detailed information about events and activities both past and future. The timbre is published monthly. Webcast--provide opportunities to view conventions and similar performances in the barbershop harmony style convention management--check potential sites for conventions and verify they have the right facilities to best produce the unamplified sound of our four-part harmony. Verify that the sites have areas for the judges to do their analysis and recommendation sessions. This may not happen every year. Only facilities which are not known or have not been used in the last few years are evaluated. Barbershop summit--sharing knowledge, skills and resources with other a capella groups in the northwest. We advocate for joint educational opportunities with intersecting sweet adelines regions, chapters and individuals. Officer education--provide training in barbershop harmony for board and operations team members. When these officers travel and visit chapters, they are ready to provide education and coaching in the barbershop harmony style. Youth in harmony--provide guidance and support to those chapters wishing to host events that educate young singers about the barbershop style, and provide youth with real performance experiences. Offer scholarships to youth to attend the events. Evergreen senior chorus--provides opportunities for singers to be active at the district convention even if their chapter is not attending.”

“House of delegates. The blmf was formed with the "culture of giving" in mind. We are here with the express mission to foster such a culture. Those who want to participate can do so in two ways. First, we are looking for projects that share the joy of barbershop with new people. We are looking for people with vision that are willing to lead a project with sharing in mind. Many startup projects never get off the ground, for lack of funding. That should not be the case anymore; we are here to provide that funding. Second, we are looking for financial partners to help accumulate funds that can support these innovative ideas. If you don't have time to contribute to a project, you can be a part of the culture by providing a means to make others' ideas grow.”

“Bud leabo memorial fund 332,752 the bud leabo memorial fund (blmf) was operating as a separate non-profit. Many of the same people were serving on the boards of blmf and evergreen. It was determined that it would be more efficient to operate as a single entity. The bud leabo memorial fund combined with the evergreen district in 2016 as directed by a vote of the house of delegates.”
