Additional Explanations

Form 990, Page 1, Part I, Line 6

The board of directors serve international needs in a volunteer capacity. There are a number of other volunteers who provide clerical/office services.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

In 1974, international needs founder, ray harrison, had a vision to transform lives and change communities by helping christians serve both god and neighbor within their own countries. Forty years later, that vision has grown to a partnership of countries in africa, asia, australia, europe and north and south america. Christians all over the world unite to change lives for jesus christ through a variety of programs and projects focusing on gospel outreach, education, health, economic development, and food and water. In addition to ghana, nepal and turkey, international needs is working to transform lives and change communities in bangladesh, czech republic, egypt, india, kenya, the philippines, slovakia, colombia, ethiopia, romania, uganda, the united states, vietnam, and zambia. Child sponsorships are an excellent example of transforming one person's life, by developing a relationship through support, prayer, letter writing, and sometimes even meeting in person. Projects, such as digging wells or building schools help transform entire communities, while vocational training and leadership seminars transform groups of people so they can impact their comunity for years to come. Short term ministry teams and church partnerships unite ministry countries with people who live in the united states, allowing both parties to grown and learn through their interactions with each other.

VITAL ELEMENTS OF THE IN GHANA MINISTRY ARE CHURCH PLANTERS, A VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER, AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION PROVIDED IN TEN SCHOOLS. CHILD SPONSORSHIP IS A KEY COMPONENT OF THE EDUCATIONAL MINISTRY SINCE THERE ARE MANY CHILDREN IN REMOTE, POVERTY-STRICKEN AREAS OF GHANA WHO HAVE NO HOPE OF AN EDUCATION WITHOUT SOMEONE TO SPONSOR THEM.
