(this excludes utilization of sea mar services and policies regarding services provided by sea mar.) any member serving on another decision-making body that would be directly affected by an action of the board would also have a conflict of interest. No board member may participate in the selection, award, or administration of a contract supported by federal funds if a real or apparent conflict of interest would be involved. Such a conflict would arise with a board member or any of his or her immediate family, his or her partner, or an organization which employs or is about to employ any of the parties indicated herein, has a financial or other interest in the firm selected for an award. The board members shall neither solicit nor accept gratuities, favors, or anything of monetary value from contractors of the corporation or parties to agreements within the corporation. B) determination of conflict of interest - any board member who feels that he/she has a potential conflict of interest regarding business before the board should declare that he/she has a conflict. Any member may challenge another member if he/she feels that a conflict exists and has not been declared. If there is any question as to whether a conflict of interest exists, the matter shall be determined by a majority vote of the board or its committees. C) abstention for business at hand - any member determined to have a conflict of interest shall be excluded from voting on the matter at hand. D) violations - any board member who knowingly violates the provisions of this section 9 shall be subject to action by the board, including but not limited to censure, removal from the board pursuant to section 19, or such other action as the board may deem appropriate.”
