Financial Statement Notes

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

Bristol Bay Housing Development Corporation is a non-profit organization exempt from income taxation based on Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Although the Corporation is exempt from federal income taxes, income derived from unrelated business activities, if any, is subject to the requirements of filing Federal Income Tax Form 990-T and a tax liability may be determined on these activities. The Corporation adopted the provisions of Topic 740 of the FASB Accounting Standards Codification relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Because of the implementation of ASC 740, the Corporation made a comprehensive review of its portfolio of uncertain tax positions in accordance with recognition standards established by ASC 740. The Corporation's policy is to recognize interest and penalties accrued on any unrecognized tax benefits as a component of income tax expense. At year-end there are no uncertain tax positions or unrecognized tax benefits. With few exceptions, the Corporation is not subject to audit of its tax returns prior to December 31, 2021.

IRS990/MissionDesc0Bristol Bay Housing Development Corporation (the Corporation) is a non-profit organization incorporated in Alaska in 1994 for providing housing services to elder native Alaskans living in New Stuyahok, Alaska. The Corporation was formerly known as the Bristol Bay New Stuyahok Housing Development Corporation. It changed its name in fall of 2009. The New Stuyahok Housing Project consists of five low-income elderly apartments plus one manager occupied unit. The housing program is made possible by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) capital advance under the HUD 202 program.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Bristol Bay Housing Development Corporation is a non-profit organization exempt from income taxation based on Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Although the Corporation is exempt from federal income taxes, income derived from unrelated business activities, if any, is subject to the requirements of filing Federal Income Tax Form 990-T and a tax liability may be determined on these activities. The Corporation adopted the provisions of Topic 740 of the FASB Accounting Standards Codification relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes. Because of the implementation of ASC 740, the Corporation made a comprehensive review of its portfolio of uncertain tax positions in accordance with recognition standards established by ASC 740. The Corporation's policy is to recognize interest and penalties accrued on any unrecognized tax benefits as a component of income tax expense. At year-end there are no uncertain tax positions or unrecognized tax benefits. With few exceptions, the Corporation is not subject to audit of its tax returns prior to December 31, 2021.
