Washington Chapter of Delta Chi

“A. Active members - fraternity members attending the university of washington, who have been initiated into the fraternity, fully participate in the activities of the chapter, and have full voting and other rights.b. Associate members - students attending the university of washington who have been invited to join the fraternity, but have not yet met the initiation requirements. Associate members are full participants of chapter activities.c. Alumni members - members who have been initiated into the fraternity, but who are no longer students at the university of washington. They do not participate in the activities of the chapter. Alumni have no voting rights, except for certain alumni who are elected to the alumni advisory board of trustees.”

It charters chapters at many universities and colleges throughout the united states.the washington chapter of delta chi is the chapter chartered by delta chi fraternity at the university of washington in seattle, washington. Students at the university of washington, who indicate an interest in joining the fraternity, and who are invited to join the fraternity by the active membership of the chapter, become the new members of the organization.”

“The active membership is the governing body of the organization. The entire active membership of the chapter vote on all significant decisions. The officers council, which is composed of all the officers of the chapter, make the day to day operating decisions based on the direction of the chapter.in addition, there is an alumni advisory board composed certain chapter officers and alumni advisors, who oversee and monitor the chapters decisions and activities.”

“Minutes are kept of all chapter meetings, and maintained as a permanent record of actions of the chapter. Copies of all chapter minutes are sent to the national delta chi fraternity headquarters.all the chapter officers and significant committee chairs prepare monthly written reports and review them with the chapter officers council and the alumni advisory board.”

“The alumnus financial advisor / trustee prepares the form 990 on behalf of the active chapter. The completed form 990 is provided to the chapter officers and alumni advisory board to review and approve.”

“The fraternity chapter officers serve without salary or cash compensation. Certain officers and key committee chairmen may be given a credit for a portion of their housebills as a scholarship credit. These credits are determined and monitored by the alumni advisory board, composed of chapter officers and active alumni advisors.the organization does not have any paid ceo, executive director, or top management official.”

“All governing documents & minutes are maintained at the fraternity house, where all active members reside. “In december, 2017,delta chi national fraternity withdrew the charter of the washington chapter. As a result, the university of washington withdrew its recognition of the chapter.in the fall of 2022 the national fraternity restarted the chapter, and the university of washington has recognized it as a colony in develoipment.in the meantime, washington chapter delta chi alumni, who were members of the alumni advisory board, have maintained oversight of the chapter entity, with the intention of passing it to the new chapter & its new alumni advisory board.”
