“Reaching and meeting needs worldwide ministry reached the needs of over 2,500 people in 2019. The ministry provided support for a california mother whose daughter was in the emory hospital icu for three months, provided ninety days of housing for a family with a terminally ill family member,provided hotel accomodation for a homeless mother and her infant, purchased insulin for an individual caught in the medicare gap, paid for an air conditioning unit to be repaired for a household where the head of the household was laid off due to an inability to work related to health issues. In addition to these, the ministry provided 325 meals for the homeless in atlanta, provided pre-cooked thanksgiving and christmas meals sufficient to feed 1,250 individuals residing in the states of alabama, georgia, and south carolina, provided 10 meal cards to persons who had family members in surgery at piedmont hospital, and provided fresh flowers for a homebound member of the world parish. A major emphasis was reaching and meeting the needs in the area of higher educaiton. To fulfill this emphasis, the ministry provided funding for ten students, pursuing degrees in the field of education and attending the university of west alabama in livinston, alabama, to travel abroad and study the educational system of the people's republic of china in the city of wuhan, china during the month of august 2019. Each student lives in the "blackbelt" region of alabama. Two of the ten studens had never flown on a plan; nine had never applied for a passport. Also, the ministry provided the funds for luther rice university, lithonia, ga to purchase an online proctoring system. This system makes it possible for the university to proctor the theological education of 1,249 students residing in 48 states and 22 foreign countries. The ministry delivered 52 phone meditations to a weekly average of 40-60 participants, made over 500 visits to people in need, and offered prayer with or for 1,277 individuals and situations.”

THE MINISTRY PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR A CALIFORNIA MOTHER WHOSE DAUGHTER WAS IN THE EMORY HOSPITAL ICU FOR THREE MONTHS, PROVIDED NINETY DAYS OF HOUSING FOR A FAMILY WITH A TERMINALLY ILL FAMILY MEMBER,PROVIDED HOTEL ACCOMODATION FOR A HOMELESS MOTHER AND HER INFANT, PURCHASED INSULIN FOR AN INDIVIDUAL CAUGHT IN THE MEDICARE GAP, PAID FOR AN AIR CONDITIONING UNIT TO BE REPAIRED FOR A HOUSEHOLD WHERE THE HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD WAS LAID OFF DUE TO AN INABILITY TO WORK RELATED TO HEALTH ISSUES. IN ADDITION TO THESE, THE MINISTRY PROVIDED 325 MEALS FOR THE HOMELESS IN ATLANTA, PROVIDED PRE-COOKED THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS MEALS SUFFICIENT TO FEED 1,250 INDIVIDUALS RESIDING IN THE STATES OF ALABAMA, GEORGIA, AND SOUTH CAROLINA, PROVIDED 10 MEAL CARDS TO PERSONS WHO HAD FAMILY MEMBERS IN SURGERY AT PIEDMONT HOSPITAL, AND PROVIDED FRESH FLOWERS FOR A HOMEBOUND MEMBER OF THE WORLD PARISH. A MAJOR EMPHASIS WAS REACHING AND MEETING THE NEEDS IN THE AREA OF HIGHER EDUCAITON. TO FULFILL THIS EMPHASIS, THE MINISTRY PROVIDED FUNDING FOR TEN STUDENTS, PURSUING DEGREES IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION AND ATTENDING THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST ALABAMA IN LIVINSTON, ALABAMA, TO TRAVEL ABROAD AND STUDY THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA IN THE CITY OF WUHAN, CHINA DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2019. EACH STUDENT LIVES IN THE "BLACKBELT" REGION OF ALABAMA. TWO OF THE TEN STUDENS HAD NEVER FLOWN ON A PLAN; NINE HAD NEVER APPLIED FOR A PASSPORT. ALSO, THE MINISTRY PROVIDED THE FUNDS FOR LUTHER RICE UNIVERSITY, LITHONIA, GA TO PURCHASE AN ONLINE PROCTORING SYSTEM. THIS SYSTEM MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR THE UNIVERSITY TO PROCTOR THE THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION OF 1,249 STUDENTS RESIDING IN 48 STATES AND 22 FOREIGN COUNTRIES. THE MINISTRY DELIVERED 52 PHONE MEDITATIONS TO A WEEKLY AVERAGE OF 40-60 PARTICIPANTS, MADE OVER 500 VISITS TO PEOPLE IN NEED, AND OFFERED PRAYER WITH OR FOR 1,277 INDIVIDUALS AND SITUATIONS. |
