“Everyday, more than 30,000 people are converted to the Christian faith in Africa. That is more than ten million new believers each year. Of this number, more than 298,000 become Methodists each year. There is need for discipleship, leadership, and education In light of such phenomenal growth. PLRCA is a ministry that focuses on this growth. Our areas of ministry are the following: Discipleship: There is need for discipleship that these new converts will grow and become life-long disciples of Christ Jesus. PLRCA produces and distributes the kind of quality resources needed for discipling these new converts that they may grow and mature in the Christian life of faith. Leadership Training: The second major area of ministry of PLRCA is leadership training. With such phenomenal growth of the Church in Africa, there is a great need for trained leaders. PLRCA provides leadership training for the laity and clergy using resources provided by PLRCA. Trained leadership is in great demand, and PLRCA is helping by training African Christians to serve in these emerging churches. PLRCA is now operating in twelve African countries. These resources of PLRCA is now available in 4 languages, to 25 theological schools and seminaries. More than 1,200 pastors and students are now using the resources produced by PLRCA and impacting more than a million people. Education: The third area is education. Here, PLRCA is involved with writing theological textbooks for the education of pastors in African seminaries, textbooks that are biblically-based, and culturally relevant. Some of these books are now in use in various theological schools in Africa. The resources have also been translated into French for French speaking African countries Portuegese and the Bassa language in Liberia.”
