DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Sigma Phi Epsilon MO ETA chapter volunteers and helps set up many different philanthropic events to donate money to the Special Olympics as well as volunteering to help out with putting on the Special Olympics. We also volunteer with Community Partnership of the Ozarks to contribute and give back to our community. On campus we have put on educational events and will continue to strive in educating our members and campus peers on many different issues such as time management, alcohol awareness, and risk management. Each member of Sigma Phi Epsilon is required to complete a minimum of 10 community service hours. The Special Olympics is the charity that Missouri Eta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon chooses to donate to. We also provide community service to their bowling championships. We send about 50 men each fall to volunteer over 900 hours total of community service. This has occurred each November since 2006. This activity is conducted in Springfield, MO by the members of Sigma Phi Epsilon and the Special Olympics. Heart Walk is an event put on by the American Heart Association. Sigma Phi Epsilon sends at least 30 men each year to volunteer at the event, doing everything from setting up the exhibits to guiding participants along the walk. This activity has occurred every April since 2006. This activity is conducted at Kickapoo High School and is performed by the members of Sigma Phi Epsilon and the American Heart Association. Big Brothers Big Sisters Fitness Festival is a fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Sigma Phi Epsilon sends around 40 members to volunteer, estimating at least 240 hours of community service. It will occur at the Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO. It is being performed by Big Brothers Big Sisters, Bass Pro Shops, and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Greek tug is our annual spring philanthropy event. It is a tug of war competition that is open to all fraternities and sororities. We split the philanthropy with Delta Zeta sorority and each of us generates at least $1000 to donate to our local philanthropies. Greek Tug has taken place in April of every year since 2009. Greek Tug is performed at the Delta Zeta house and is performed by Delta Zeta and Sigma Phi Epsilon. Leadership events such as Carlson Leadership Academy, E.D.G.E., and Ruck Institute are all leadership events that members of Sigma Phi Epsilon attend. E.D.G.E is a required event for all new members, in which they are taught how to be a balanced man. Carlson is an event held for all executive board members where they learn different leadership strategies. Ruck is an event where only one member per chapter can attend a national leadership conference. This teaches our members to become responsible leaders. Carlson takes place in Chicago every February since 2006. E.D.G.E takes place in Springfield, MO every October since 2006. Ruck takes place over the summary every year since 2006. These events are planned and performed by Sigma Phi Epsilon national headquarters and the members of our chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon.$0$0
