“Property management members - firms, individuals and/or organizational entities that own and/or manage rental property in the state of washington and are not considered supplier members. Property members - an individual rental property in the state of washington. Suppliers members - individuals, firms, and/or private businesses who are in the business of supplying goods and services to the operators or owners of rental property. Chapter members - other government entities, housing authorities or non-profit associations or organizations formed or existing for purposes directly or indirectly related to the rental housing industry and whose goals are, in the sole opinion of the board, not dissimilar or antagonistic to the purposes and goals of wmfha.”

“We are a 501(c)(6) and our members elect our board of directors. The board then elects the executive committee.”

“The form 990 review will be conducted by wmfha executive director and wmfha director of office services. A complete copy of the form 990 will be provided to all members of the governing body before filing with the irs.”

“An annual questionnaire is distributed to the board members and responses are reviewed by the executive director and executive committee for any possible conflicts. If a potential conflict of interest is reported, the board of directors has the sole responsibility for determining whether any interests constitute a conflict and if so, what the remedy will be. Typically, if a conflict of interest is determined to exist, board members recuse themselves from discussion and voting.”

“The executive committee of the board reviews the executive director's performance and compensation annually. The last compensation review was performed november/december of 2024.”

“The governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are available to the public upon request.”

“The executive committee consists of the president, past president, vice president, treasurer, secretary and vice president of suppliers council. Executive committee members are standing board members. They exercise powers to manage business affairs, review administrative procedures and make recommendations to the board of directors. They have limited duties with respect to electing officers or terminating the executive director.”
