The conference is designed around fac's strategy to achieve the charitable objective to close the disparity in research and treatment of female athletes. First, by helping to attract and train more experts to help remedy inequity by educating and facilitating opportunities for professionals, and fostering greater experience in medical areas that historically have, and continue to, face greater challenges achieving greater inclusion of women. Second, the conference and its educational programs are purposely focused on education about female athletes in specific areas - bone stress injuries, restrictive eating, nutrition, athletic identity in youth athletes, female athlete triad risk factors, menstrual dysfunction, relative energy deficiency in sport (red-s), and psychological resilience - because these are the key areas in desperate need of research and systemic reform that knowledge has the potential to remedy. Fac encourages research and education in these areas where female athletes have historically lacked equal treatment. Fac's conduct of the conference is intended to attract and inspire individuals, medical institutions, and athletic programs in these challenging areas in which there has been chronic unequal treatment for females.”
