“Prior to filing, Dominion Academy's Form 990 was reviewed through a collaborative stewardship process. The Finance Chair and CEO examined the draft for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with the organization's mission. A complete copy of the Form 990, including all schedules, was then distributed to all voting members of the governing body for review. Board members were invited to provide feedback, ask clarifying questions, and affirm the integrity of the report. This practice reflects Dominion's commitment to transparency, accountability, and faithful oversight of its resources.”
“Dominion Academy upholds a culture of integrity, transparency, and spiritual stewardship by actively monitoring compliance with its conflict-of-interest policy. Each year, officers, directors, trustees, and key employees are required to complete and sign a Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure Form. These forms are reviewed by the CEO and Finance Chair to identify any potential conflicts. If a concern arises, the governing body engages in thoughtful discussion and, when necessary, the individual is recused from related decisions. This process is documented in board minutes and reflects not only legal compliance but a deeper commitment to discernment, humility, and faithful leadership. We believe that ethical governance is a spiritual practice and one that calls us to examine our roles with clarity, care, and a shared sense of responsibility for the mission we steward together.”
“Dominion Academy affirms the value of transparency and faithful stewardship. During the tax year, the organization made its Form 990 and IRS determination letter available to the public upon request. While governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are not posted online, they are available for review upon request. Dominion is committed to operating with integrity and welcomes inquiries from stakeholders who seek to understand our mission and governance.”
“In 2024, we received the Adolescent Transitional Living Program Grant (ATLP) from the State of Washington Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF). This allowed us to house (up to) 5 youth in our DA Home until September 2025. At that time, we can apply for renewal (which we did,& received a renewal until 9/30/2027). If the capacity is consistently at 5 youths for 12 months, the grant pays a total $788K, annually.”
“The amount reported under "Other Services" reflects a range of operational and program-supporting expenses that do not fall under standard categories. These include consultation fees, home lease costs, home and vehicle maintenance, professional certifications, staff trainings, and approximately 2.12% in miscellaneous expenses. Each item supports Dominion Academy's mission by ensuring safe housing, reliable transportation, professional development, and access to specialized expertise. These services are essential to the stewardship and delivery of Dominion's programs and reflect our commitment to integrity, care, and operational sustainability.”
“Dominion Academy utilizes a cash-based accrual approach for financial reporting. Day-to-day transactions are recorded on a cash basis, reflecting actual inflows and outflows. For Form 990 and year-end reporting, the organization adjusts to accrual accounting to reflect earned income and incurred expenses, including accounts payable, receivables, and depreciation. This hybrid method supports operational clarity while ensuring compliance with IRS requirements for accrual-based reporting in Part X. Dominion Academy views financial stewardship as a spiritual responsibility and strives to reflect both transparency and integrity in its accounting practices. WE HAVE NO LOANS NO INVESTMENTS AND NO CREDIT.”
“Dominion Academy prepares its financial statements using the cash basis of accounting. As such, Part X reflects only assets and liabilities that were actually received or paid by the end of the tax year. Many lines in Part X appear blank because cash basis accounting does not recognize receivables, payables, depreciation, or other accrual-based items. This approach aligns with our commitment to transparency and stewardship, ensuring that reported figures reflect actual cash activity. Our year-end cash balance represents funds available for ongoing operations and mission-driven initiatives. All other financial activity (including grants received, program revenue, and expenses) is detailed in Parts VIII and IX.”
“Dominion Academy reports its financials using the cash basis of accounting. Under this method, liabilities are recorded only when cash is actually disbursed or obligations are settled by year-end. As a result, many lines in the liabilities section of Part X appear blank. This does not indicate a lack of financial activity, but rather reflects our commitment to transparency and simplicity in reporting. We do not carry unpaid obligations or deferred expenses into future periods, and we maintain a debt-free posture whenever possible. This approach supports our stewardship values - ensuring that our financial statements reflect actual cash movement and that we remain accountable for what we hold and spend in real time. WE HAVE NO LOANS NO INVESTMENTS AND NO CREDIT.”

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 0 | In 2024, we received the Adolescent Transitional Living Program Grant (ATLP) from the State of Washington Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF). This allowed us to house (up to) 5 youth in our DA Home until September 2025. At that time, we can apply for renewal (which we did,& received a renewal until 9/30/2027). If the capacity is consistently at 5 youths for 12 months, the grant pays a total $788K, annually. |

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 2 | Prior to filing, Dominion Academy's Form 990 was reviewed through a collaborative stewardship process. This practice reflects Dominion's commitment to transparency, accountability, and faithful oversight of its resources. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 3 | Dominion Academy upholds a culture of integrity, transparency, and spiritual stewardship by actively monitoring compliance with its conflict-of-interest policy. We believe that ethical governance is a spiritual practice and one that calls us to examine our roles with clarity, care, and a shared sense of responsibility for the mission we steward together. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 4 | Dominion Academy affirms the value of transparency and faithful stewardship. During the tax year, the organization made its Form 990 and IRS determination letter available to the public upon request. While governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements are not posted online, they are available for review upon request. Dominion is committed to operating with integrity and welcomes inquiries from stakeholders who seek to understand our mission and governance. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 5 | The amount reported under "Other Services" reflects a range of operational and program-supporting expenses that do not fall under standard categories. These include consultation fees, home lease costs, home and vehicle maintenance, professional certifications, staff trainings, and approximately 2.12% in miscellaneous expenses. Each item supports Dominion Academy's mission by ensuring safe housing, reliable transportation, professional development, and access to specialized expertise. These services are essential to the stewardship and delivery of Dominion's programs and reflect our commitment to integrity, care, and operational sustainability. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 6 | Dominion Academy utilizes a cash-based accrual approach for financial reporting. WE HAVE NO LOANS NO INVESTMENTS AND NO CREDIT. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 7 | Dominion Academy prepares its financial statements using the cash basis of accounting. All other financial activity (including grants received, program revenue, and expenses) is detailed in Parts VIII and IX. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 8 | Dominion Academy reports its financials using the cash basis of accounting. WE HAVE NO LOANS NO INVESTMENTS AND NO CREDIT. |
