Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The beagle bungalow is a non-profit facility whose primary purpose is to provide a sanctuary for rescued beagles and hounds in need of long term care because of age and/or medical conditions. In addition, we will provide boarding, assessment, and training of newly rescued beagles until they can be placed in a houston beagle and hound rescue, inc. (a non-profit texas corporation) foster home. All canine residents will have full medical vetting done by a licensed veterimary doctor prior to admission to the beagle bungalow to ensure a healthy environment. On-going medical treatment for long term residents will be provided as needed. The board members along with our volunteers have a vast amount of knowledge and experience with behaviors specific to scent hounds. This will ensure dogs will be cared for in a safe, homelike environment that provides comfort and proper socialization. Our long term goal is to educated the public on responsible pet ownership with the understanding that having a
