Mission

The Heart and Hustle Academy collaborates with local schools community-based organizations and community centers to recruit young people for our community outreach mentor programs. Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Heart and Hustle Academy created a unique emergency housing service known as Host Room which is exclusively designed to cater to the needs of young adults aged between 18 and 24. With Host Room these individuals can access a safe and secure space while they search for transitional housing. In addition to providing a safe haven this program offers guidance and support to participants in the form of various resources job opportunities educational programs and life skills training. All participants are required to set personal goals and work towards achieving them during their stay in the Host Room. For the year 2023 we hosted 12 young adults. This approach helps to foster a sense of self-determination and self-reliance among youth and young adults.$34,052$34,052
This capacity-building grant is dedicated to enhancing and expanding our youth mentor program operated through Heart and Hustle Academy. It allows us to strengthen the organization's ability to provide high-quality mentorship services to youth and young adults and foster their personal growth academic achievement and positive development.$9,999$9,999
Leaders of Tomorrow - We currently run a program called Leaders of Tomorrow which is led by one of our youth leaders. The main objective of this program is to support the black and indigenous youth in the South Seattle community who are farthest from educational justice. We currently serve 45 youth and young adults. As part of this program we offer various activities that promote social emotional and mental health among these youth such as mindfulness activities field trips academic support healing circles enrichment activities and social-emotional learning SEL. The program is youth-led which means it's an excellent opportunity to create change agents in our community and give a voice skills and tools to our black and indigenous communities empowering them to bring change to the next generation.$9,999$9,999
Back on Track sessions 1 & 2 - Our program "Back on Track 1 and 2" provided physical fitness educational and team-building activities for 75 youth to boost their social and emotional well-being. The activities included sports like soccer flag football basketball and kickball as well as youth boot camp circuit training and mindfulness activities. Our goal was to create a safe and positive community where young people felt empowered and confident as they learned the fundamentals of physical activities and developed essential skills like cooperation communication and leadership.$7,500$7,500
