| BASE POWER MEETINGS: AMP CO-HOSTED TWO MEETINGS, HELD PRIOR TO THE PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS, TARGETED TOWARDS OUR FORMERLY INCARCERATED AND FAMILY MEMBER BASE TO HEAR FROM CANDIDATES RUNNING FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL, STATE REPRESENTATIVE AND STATE SENATE, AS WELL AS PROGRESSIVE ELECTED OFFICIALS. MEMBERS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE WITH CANDIDATES AND ELECTED OFFICIALS ABOUT THEIR RECORD AND POSITIONS ON MASS INCARCERATION AND SECOND CHANCES. ADDITIONALLY, WE CO-HOSTED A POST-ELECTION DEBRIEF MASS MEETING TO DISCUSS HOW THE ELECTION RESULTS IMPACTED THE ANTI-MASS INCARCERATION MOVEMENT AND TO ENCOURAGE OUR BASE TO CONTINUE TO BE INVOLVED IN STATE AND LOCAL ADVOCACY. VOLUNTEER CANVASSING PROGRAM: AMP HELPED TO COORDINATE A BASE OF VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE DIRECTLY IMPACTED OR DEEPLY CARE ABOUT MASS INCARCERATION IN PENNSYLVANIA. THESE VOLUNTEERS PARTICIPATED IN CANVASSING IN THE WEST PHILADELPHIA AND GERMANTOWN NEIGHBORHOODS OF PHILADELPHIA ON THE WEEKENDS LEADING UP TO THE SPRING PRIMARY ELECTION, SHARING INFORMATION WITH VOTERS ABOUT THE ELECTIONS WHILE ALSO IDENTIFYING OTHERS WHO ALSO CARE ABOUT MASS INCARCERATION AND MIGHT WANT TO GET MORE INVOLVED WITH OUR WORK. PAID CANVASSING PROGRAM: AMP LAUNCHED A PAID CANVASSING PROGRAM AHEAD OF THE NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION TO IDENTIFY AND ENGAGE NEIGHBORS IN PRIMARILY WEST PHILADELPHIA AND GERMANTOWN WHO CARE ABOUT NON-CARCERAL COMMUNITY SAFETY, AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO TURN OUT TO VOTE. CANVASS LEADERS KNOCKED ON APPROXIMATELY 10,000 DOORS FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH ELECTION DAY. WE ALSO TRAINED ELECTION DEFENDERS TO BRING CARE AND JOY TO SEVERAL POLLING LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT WEST PHILADELPHIA AND ADDITIONAL CANVASSERS TO GET OUT THE VOTE ON ELECTION DAY. COMMUNITY SAFETY TOWNHALLS AND EVENTS: LEADING UP TO THE NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION, AMP HOSTED MULTIPLE VIRTUAL AND IN PERSON TOWNHALLS TO PROVIDE POLITICAL EDUCATION AND ENGAGE NEIGHBORS AROUND ALTERNATIVE PUBLIC SAFETY SOLUTIONS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF VOTING. PARTICIPANTS HEARD FROM EXPERTS, ELECTED OFFICIALS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS, WATCHED PERTINENT MEDIA, HAD THOUGHTFUL BRAINSTORMS AND DISCUSSIONS, AND WERE ABLE TO COME AWAY WITH KNOWLEDGE AND TOOLS TO HAVE DEEP CONVERSATIONS WITH FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS. ADDITIONALLY, WE HOSTED A RALLY AND DISCUSSION CIRCLE IN MEMORY OF A COMMUNITY MEMBER KILLED BY POLICE IN 2020, AS WELL AS A COMMUNITY COOKOUT TO GIVE AWAY RESOURCES AND INFORMATION FOR VOTERS. MOVEMENT CELEBRATIONS: WE CO-HOSTED TWO SOCIAL EVENTS, "DECARCERATE AND CHILL," A SUMMERTIME OUTDOOR FESTIVAL AND "DECARCERATE AND BE MERRY," A HOLIDAY PARTY. THE PURPOSE OF THESE EVENTS WAS TO BRING OUR HARDWORKING MOVEMENT FAMILY TOGETHER FOR A TIME OF JOY, CELEBRATION AND COMMUNITY BUILDING. WE SHARED WITH THE AUDIENCES AT BOTH EVENTS ABOUT WHAT THE MOVEMENT HAD ACCOMPLISHED AND BASE MEMBER ATTENDEES WERE ABLE TO INTERACT WITH PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS IN ATTENDANCE. | - | $148,011 |

“Base power meetings: amp co-hosted two meetings, held prior to the primary and general elections, targeted towards our formerly incarcerated and family member base to hear from candidates running for attorney general, state representative and state senate, as well as progressive elected officials. We shared with the audiences at both events about what the movement had accomplished and base member attendees were able to interact with public officials and community leaders in attendance.”
