“The Coalition is a statewide group of diverse communities and individuals advocating to build an equitable justice system by abolishing the death penalty in Nevada through public education, media outreach, coalition-building, and grassroots organizing. NVCADP hosted a variety of educational events throughout the year for members of the public, including a panel discussion at the Freedom Fest Conference in association with Conservatives Concerned about the Death Penalty, and a faith leader roundtable discussion on the death penalty and race. The Coalition also organized and presented a number of workshops on the flaws of the death penalty, including for the Life Peace and Justice Commission of the Reno Diocese, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Reno, and at the Creating Change Conference in Las Vegas. We staffed tables at several community events and participated in a press conference and advocacy day for incarcerated people and continued outreach to murder victim family members and others directly impacted by the death penalty.”
