The organization has 136 members. There is only one class of members, all members are voting members. Membership is limited to residents of the south lyon hospital district. Members are accepted annually upon completion of an application and payment of annual dues. Members may have a motion considered by the board of directors. Any written motion that is seconded will be presented to the board and there will be a determination within 90 days.

Members have unlimited terms and are accepted upon yearly completion of the corporation application and payment of dues. The members are required to meet annually and must be residents of the south lyon hospital district. Membership is not transferable or assignable.

In order to account for any uncertain tax positions, the organization determines whether it is more likely than not that a tax position will be sustained on examination by the taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position, assuming the taxing authority has full knowledge of all information. If the tax position does not meet the more-likely-than-not recognition threshold, the benefit of the tax position is not recognized in the consolidated financial statements. The organization has not recorded any assets or liabilities related to uncertain tax positions or unrecognized tax benefits as of march 31, 2014 and 2013. The organization's tax returns for tax years 2011 and beyond remain subject to examination by the various taxing authorities. Management does not believe the organization has any material uncertain tax positions or unrecognized tax benefits.
