| To create unity and work toward social justice in the community through dialogue, support and programming for community members with a goal of promoting love, inclusion and trust (LIT). The Hopkinton Freedom Team (HFT) is focused on moving beyond tolerance to embracing, sharing and celebrating our communitys diversity. The HFT responded to several instances of bias experienced by residents of Hopkinton. The organization offered a safe and confidential space for individuals who had been harmed to talk with a few, carefully selected members of the organization. The HFT uses a transformative justice type of model. This service is offered across the Hopkinton community for any kind of bias. Besides the programming and events listed in Part III, the organization also collaborated with other organizations in Hopkinton to hold events for the community that cost nothing to the organizers or participants. Such events included organizing a virtual MLK Giving Back Day on HCAM (local cable station) and hosting a space at outdoor town events with information about the HFT and free activities for all ages. All events the HFT participated in aligned with the organizations mission of inclusion, solidarity and compassion for everyone and to celebrate diversity. | - | $2,202 |
