Mission

Bonefish bonnies, inc., a florida nonprofit corporation (the "club"), is operated exclusively as a social and recreation club whose purpose is to promote and stimulate interest and participation in the sport of fishing in a supportive environment for the enjoyment and education of its members. The club's motto is "fishing, fun and friendship". Specifically, the club sponsors the following activities in furtherance of its stated purpose: 1)membership meetings/luncheons are held monthly between november and april of each year with speakers and presentations on fishing techniques and tackle, fish habitats, reef restorations and other environmental concerns. Speakers include the superintendent of the florida keys national marine sanctuary, scientists from both the bonefish & tarpon trust and the everglades foundation as well as experts in both fly fishing and offshore fishing. Speakers' fees are supported by annual membership dues while luncheons are paid by the members and are breakeven e

EACH TOURNAMENT HOLDS BOTH AN ANGLERS- AND CAPTAINS' MEETING THE EVENING BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT AND AN AWARDS DINNER THE EVENING OF THE TOURNAMENT. ALL THREE (3) TOURNAMENTS ARE SUPPORTED BY ENTRY FEES AND ARE BUDGETED TO BE BREAKEVEN EVENTS.--

One trip is usually within the territorial waters of the state of florida but away from the club's home ports and the other is an out of state venue get away. Trips have included visits to gasparilla island, fl; vermont; and the bahamas. These trips are all paid for by the participants. 5)other activities scheduled between november and april include: fishing days, a book club, shoreline kayak clean-ups, a holiday party, field trips and classes from fly tying to gyotaku (the art of fish printing). Some of these events are supported by fees paid by the member participants. All of these events and activities further our purposes by educating our members in the sport of fishing and by providing opportunities for their enjoyment and fostering personal contact, friendship and comradery among the members.
