“Form 990-ez, part iii, primary exempt purpose - voices amplified empowers artists by generating brave and equitable spaces in arts education and threatre performance that amplify underrepresented voices and promotes inclusivity. We connect artists, educators and community members by inviting collaborative continued arts education. Form 990-ez, part iii, line 28, program service accomplishments: activate - artists with purpose - professional performing arts training for young artists ages 10-18. Activate takes a holistic approach to training focusing on increasing artistic skills, navigating the logistics of becoming a working artist, creating innovative performance opportunities to make theatre more accessible, and cultivating artists who strive to make a difference in their community. Activate serves 28 students per school year, 11 professional artists and an audience of 421. Form 990-ez, part iii, line 29, program service accomplishments: junior theatre festival - the activate training company attends the junior theatre festival in atlanta, georgia every january. Jtf brings together student musical theatre troupes from all over the world for a weekend of celebration of musical theatre. Each troupe performs fifteen minutes from a broadway junior show for adjudication by a panel of musical theatre experts. The weekend also features professional development for teachers, workshops for students and parents, a new works showcase featuring new musical adaptations soon to be released and concludes with a grand finale concert headlined by broadway professionals. Our participation in the junior theatre festival serves 27 students, 4 professional artists and parents.
