The organization is exempt from federal income tax under section 509(a)(2) of the internal revenue code. However, income from certain activities not directly related to the organizations tax-exempt purpose is subject to taxation as unrelated business income. Gaap prescribes a minimum recognition threshold that a tax position is required to meet in order to be recognized in the financial statements. The organization believes that it had no uncertain tax positions as defined in the standard.
