“AEP Outdoors honors the service of special operations veterans by providing adrenaline-filled outdoor adventures and fellowship. The organization believes the same brotherhood that kept them alive in service remains vital in civilian life. Rather than focusing on raising awareness of well-known challenges, AEP Outdoors provides real solutions through outdoor experiences that serve as outpatient therapy, promoting connection, purpose, and mental wellness. During the year, AEP Outdoors conducted multiple programs supporting this mission. Operation Billfish hosted eight veterans on a sport fishing trip in Cabo San Lucas to promote camaraderie, fellowship, and mental wellness. The organization helped fund a Veterans Day party by covering costs for the band, lodging, and tent rental to support veteran outreach. Took multiple veterans throughout the year on all-expense-paid fishing trips to foster healing and connection through time in nature. Two veterans received an all-expense-paid hunting trip including lodging, taxidermy mount, and meat processing to encourage outdoor therapeutic recreation. A Heli Hog Hunt was conducted to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and adventure. Additionally, AEP Outdoors funded the transport and processing of animals harvested during a prior African veteran hunt to complete the experience and deliver mounts to participants. AEP Outdoors has also provided grants to other nonprofit organizations that share its mission and values, particularly those using the outdoors as a means of therapy, healing, and fellowship for veterans. Throughout the year, the organization was supported by 15 volunteers who assisted with planning, logistics, and event operations, helping AEP Outdoors expand its reach and impact within the veteran community.”
