“Produced "safety net: helping college students in recovery thrive" which is a showcase of the successful college recovery community we helped build, at michael ortoll's alma mater, florida state university (fsu), called lift. The mission of lift is to support students in recovery from addiction and substance misuse to thrive during their college experience. Students learn beneficial coping skills in an accountable recovery community where they can develop friendships with like-minded peers. In its' first year, lift engaged with over 1,000 students. Research shows students that participate in college recovery are more apt to have higher graduation rates, higher gpas, are less likely to relapse and have a greater likelihood of continuing to thrive in society. Our charity's national initiative is to make this a reality at every higher education campus, as per the latest research approximately 24% of all college students have a substance use disorder, yet less than 5% of all colleges have an effective recovery program in place. We will be sharing this at the end of q1 in 2024 with every two- and four- year college in the us.”
“The christine ortoll recovery organization has two national initiatives as follows: 1. The continuation of work in the development of college recovery programs since the last study shows 24% of all secondary school students meet the medical definition of substance abuse and only 5% of our universities have an effective recovery program in place. The christine ortoll recovery organization made a donation of 40,000 in 2023 to keep rebuilding annually the college recovery program called lift as it experiences annual faculty and student attrition. This has involved several trips to florida state university as part of their steering committee head alumni and daily by our team as we grew from 1,100 in 2022 to 1,600 in 2023. 2. The second initiative is dealing with trauma in primary schools in which we partnered with emotional vaccines. Emotional vaccines consists of a library of hundreds of videos featuring proactive, evidence-based content, each designed with non-clinical messaging and simple, easy-to-follow steps to empower children, counselors and educators to deal with everyday life challenges in order to mitigate health issues and prevent addiction. The christine ortoll recovery organization shares videos with its followers to help them in building emotional resiliency to combat adverse childhood experiences, such as bullying, suicide ideation, and sexual or emotional abuse, etc. The president of christine ortoll recovery organization continues to participate in social media, radio, tv or events to speak and share his story to inspire people in finding their purpose following tragedy so that they can heal and thrive in life by helping others. The team continues to meet with people so that they may share with the audience the most powerful sobriety journeys to create hope and save lives. This meets the organization's primary goal of producing media to inspire those struggling to have the courage to make the changes to transform their lives.”
