Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11

LCWINS authorized independent auditors to compile and file the IRS Form 990. The Executive Director and Treasurer reviewed the first draft. The Board of directors read and approved its final version prior to submission without any edits or requests for clarification.

Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12C

The LCWINS Board of Directors completed an annual conflict of interest disclosure form. The Executive Director reviewed each form for compliance and the Chair and Vice Chair found no conflicts.

CEO executive director top management comp Part VI line 15A

In accordance with the organizations Highly Compensated Employees Policy, an ad hoc committee of the LCWINS Board of Directors annually collects comparative compensation data for similarly qualified leaders at similar organizations. The committee presents its findings and recommendations for Executive Director compensation to the full Board of Directors in executive session for discussion and approval. The director leading this effort operates independently and without undue influence from any member of the staff or any individual who could present a potential conflict of interest.

Description of the Organizations Mission:The mission of the Leadership Council for Women in National Security (LCWINS) is to support the ascension of women to the highest levels of national security policymaking.

Part X, Line 2-Text in footnote regarding FIN 48 (ASC 740)

LCWINS follows the Financial Accounting Standards Board Accounting Standards Codification (FASB ASC), which provides guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in LCWINSs financial statements, if any. At year end, LCWINS had no unrecognized tax benefits related to uncertain tax positions in its information return that would qualify for either recognition or disclosure in its financial statements.LCWINSs policy would be to recognize interest and penalties on tax positions related to its unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense in the financial statements. Through year end, there have been no matters that would have resulted in an accrual for interest and/or penalties.

At year end, LCWINS had no unrecognized tax benefits related to uncertain tax positions in its information return that would qualify for either recognition or disclosure in its financial statements.LCWINSs policy would be to recognize interest and penalties on tax positions related to its unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense in the financial statements. Through year end, there have been no matters that would have resulted in an accrual for interest and/or penalties.
