“AQUME Foundation will schedule a Board of Trustees meeting before filing Form 990. Prior to the governing body meeting, all Trustees will have received a complete copy of the Form 990 for their review of calendar year 2022. A policy for this meeting is in place: The Chief Operating Officer will facilitate this part of the meeting. They will work aloneside a paid preparer providing information about the foundation and the financial statements. Part Vl line 19 same as 018 - governing documents, etc., available to public”

“AQUME Foundations governing body feel that a policy on conflict of interest is a good governance and accountability practice. Once a year a certification and disclosure form is given to all Officers, Directors and key employees to certify that he or she: received a copy of the policy, read and understand the policy. Everyone is made to understand that transactions that provide impermissible benefits to individuals or entities are not to be engaged in. Everyone is asked to certify that he or she has no actual or possible conflict of interest to report. AQUME Foundation not only gives a copy of the policy to everyone but also offers everyone the opportunity to ask questions about the policy.”

“AQUME Foundation just completed its third year as a nonprofit organization. With that in mind the governing body adopted a policy that calls for an annual review of compensation for its President. To assist in this, a search will be made of like foundations in the state with simular financial reporting.”

“AQUME Foundations policy for other Officers or key employees compensation: Once a year the Human Resources Committee reviews the salaries of the staff, by name and by position against an established salary schedule of increase.”

“AQUME Foundation works to be in compliance with all Public Inspection Rules: When requested AQUME Foundation will share its annual returns for three years after the due date. All Form 990 schedules (except portions of Schedule B),attachments and supporting documents. Application for exemption and all supporting documents. The determination letter from the IRS that shows our tax-exempt status. AQUME Foundation will try to meet all requests the day of, however; if not, requests will be made available within two weeks. Request for copies in-person or in writing will be honored at a reasonable fee to cover the cost of copies. At this time the Board of Trustees have not decided to put the returns on the internet. AQUME Foundation will not identify contributors by name, only the amounts and natures of the contributions. Unfavorable rulings and certain types of information that the IRS said could be withheld.”
