DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Climate Changemakers prepared dozens of online resources and hosted weekly events on Zoom, where participants advocated to the US Congress and the Executive Branch in support of policies that address climate change. Some events and resources directed users to contact their Representatives and Senators; others directed users to contact "key stakeholders" in the policy-making process, such as banks or commercial associations; others directed users to submit public comments to federal agencies, such as the Environmental Protection Agency.-$107,227
Climate Changemakers created online resources viewed by hundreds of volunteers on best practices in civic engagement and educated them about important solutions to climate change. This program also includes Staff time spent building relationships with members who exhibit strong leadership potential, and helping them become effective community facilitators.-$36,442
Climate Changemakers identified 32 candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives with strong climate action platforms in races rated a "toss-up" by non-partisan political rating organizations. We prepared dozens of online resources educating our volunteers on these candidates and how to support them. We hosted weekly Zoom events dedicated to electing these candidates. At the direction of Climate Changemakers, volunteers called, texted, and wrote letters to voters in the candidates' districts, raised funds for their campaigns, raised awareness about these candidates on social media, and raised funds for nonprofit organizations in their district.-$11,394

IRS990ScheduleC/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Climate Changemakers analyzed a variety of races deemed competitive by the Cook Political Report and other third-party reviews to determine if a candidate supports environmental and climate protections, independent of the party that the candidate represents. For 32 candidates running for the U.S. House of Representatives whose policy goals aligned with those of Climate Changemakers, Climate Changemakers communicated that information to volunteers and provided opportunities for volunteers to get involved with partner organizations and support the candidates. Climate Changemakers created online resources and hosted weekly Zoom events where volunteers called, texted, and wrote letters to voters in the candidates' districts, and raised awareness about ways to support these candidates and nonprofit get-out-the-vote organizations in their districts. No funds were spent to support specific campaigns or candidates.
