“Economic empowerment - our group grew to 17,000 members on facebook and continued to support our local restaurants through social media posts and discussions. We created a partnership with giving kitchen to help restaurant workers in crisis. We brought our local restaurant owners and managers together twice to discuss key issues that need collective action. Food security - we delivered meals to people in need across local winter and emergency shelters, and migrant shelters during the migrant crisis. Sustainability - we are building our community as illinois' first green dining hub in partnership with the illinois green business program. We have taken this concept out through media channels, participation in regional conferences and we have committed to spend 25,000 over the next few years in making illinois first green dining hub a reality in a commercially responsible way.”
