FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The wasatch community foundation (wcf) is a volunteer, non-profit organization committed to enriching lives of wasatch county residents. The strength of the foundation is the focus on five areas: the arts, education, health, service and recreation to support a balanced lifestyle.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4D

Parents empowering abled kids (p.e.a.k.)(amount expended 11,846 - district students served) the wasatch county special education program provided opportunities for students to participate in appropriate extra-curricular activities and field trips, funding for classroom supplies, and supporting the early intervention pre school program and the transitions college for older students. Educator of the year (amount expended 8,475, 8 educators honored). This program recognizes our district school teachers for their dedicated service to our children. During the school year, one teacher from the 8 district schools is honored with a 100 check and a 100 restaurant gift certificate. At the high school graduation, the 8 recipients are each presented and awarded 800 and a crystal recognition award. The health pillar offers opportunities for the residents of wasatch county to improve their health through education. (amount expended 4,856- whole community served). Community health and safety fairs for adults and children, the community "issues" conference and the children's mile-by-mile marathon are specific activities the foundation supports. Local businesses and organizations support the annual community wide "dinner in the park", which served approximately 500 people and educated the public on the benefits of eating a healthy meal together as a family. Food ingredients to prepare taco soup were distributed to 200 families. A community thanksgiving meal with entertainment, coat distribution, health screenings, was provided to approximately 400 local residents. The first annual "let freedom ring" memorial hill matters 5k fun run/ride and entertainment was held on memorial day. This fundraising effort is to support the beautification of memorial hill, midway. The annual summertime "concerts in the park" was supported. The service pillar serves the community in the capacity of the wasatch community service alliance. (amount expended 2,000- whole community served). The current focus is "healing hunger here" with the need to feed elementary and middle school children through the "weekend backpack program". Over the christmas holiday 300 children, who would otherwise be without food, were provided with 24 lbs. Of easy to prepare, kid friendly, healthy food valued at 42 per student.(amount expended 385 - whole community served). Total program service expenditures: 301,112
