Mission

Fcia's mission is for member organizations to be recognized throughout the construction industry as preferred quality contractors of life safety firestop systems.

To promote interests of building contractors that have a specific interest in the installation of firestop materials and systems; to encourage and facilitate the discussion and study of firestop contractor problems and issues; to research, investigage, and assist in the advancement and development of products, materials, and processes which promote fire and life saftey; to promote ethical and lawful business practices within the firestop contractor industry; and to encourage the use of fcia contractors as the primary source for firestopping in new construction and renovation projects, worldwide.

Cm services, inc. Manages all aspects of the organization's operations in accordance with the organization's bylaws and policies. Operations may include, but are not limited to, administration, membership, finance and accounting, convention/tradeshow/meeting planning, education, marketing, information technology, and government relations. Cm services, inc. Employees provide these services. Total management fees paid to cm services, inc. For these services amounted to $335,000. Accounts payable at december 31, 2024 includes $2,890 due to cm services, inc.

The association has six classes of membership: contractors, inspection agency, manufacturers, associate, branch, and friend of fcia members.

The contractor and voting inspection agency members are able to elect all members of the board of directors.

The voting membership votes people onto the board. All decisions after that are made by the board, all of whom are contractor members.

Fcia has no employees as all staff functions are outsourced to an association management company. The association management company competitively compensates all staff and evaluates compensation based upon surveys and reviews of industry benchmark data. The association's governing body determines and approves compensation of the management company. Fcia has no employees and officers are not compensated.
