“Dixie arizona strip interpretive association (dasia) is a 501(c) 3 non- profit corporation formed in 1994 primarily to enhance the understanding of the arizona strip and southern utah region, its history and natural resources. As a formal cooperating association, dasia partners with bureau of land management, national park service and usda forest service offices to provide interpretation, education, and customer service related materials for area visitors while assisting, where possible, with project funding. Dasia operates sales and information outreach facilities at an interagency information center in st. George, ut; the paria contact station near the vermilion cliffs national monument, and the pine valley, ut heritage center. Additional inventory is offered for sale at the grand staircase escalante national monument visitor center in kanab, ut through an agreement with the glen canyon natural history association. A new outlet at the historic pioneer courthouse in downtown st. George, ut opened in may 2017. These activities allow dasia to accomplish its motto of "connecting people and public lands"”

“Dasia partnered with 23 federal land agency volunteers who fielded nearly 35,000 visitor contacts and calls supporting the agency mission, programs and projects.”

“Grant and cooperative agreement l16ac00032 with bureau of land management dasia assisted the bureau of land management's kanab field office and vermilion cliffs national monument by providing public information, education, interpretation and outreach services focused on aiding public land users understand and help accomplish the objectives of applicable resource management plans and national landscape conservation system unit objectives. Almost 35,000 was claimed to provide vital information services in an extremely remote location on the edge of a very popular wilderness area (coyote butte/"the wave"). The seasonal information and retail sales outlet generated more than 14,000 in sales. Dasia turned operations of this facility over to glen canyon conservancy after november 15, 2018.”

“Special events dasia engaged in six special events during 2018 that generated almost 2,000 in contributions and sales. These revenues constitute the major source of funds devoted to administrative support of the organization. Events included get outdoors day, public lands day, a winter bird festival, and pine valley heritage day. Dasia also sponsored a very popular brown bag lecture series focused on the natural and cultural resources of the region.”
