Mountainlands community housing association's (mcha) purpose is based on the belief that a safe affordable home is often a familys first step toward economic self-sufficiency. Mcha addresses the dual problems of housing affordability and availability on three fronts: acquisition and new construction of affordable housing, direct assistance in securing housing and needed basic services, and education and advocacy to promote housing policy.

All employees and board members are subject to the conflict of interest policy, which requires that all actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest be disclosed. The policy requires that board members and staff act in the best interests of the organization rather than on the basis of personal interests or the interests of third parties. “Mcht completed final equity funding and permanent loans for the elmbridge apartment and prestige senior living center project in heber. Both properties were stabilized and elmbridge generated payment on the deferred development fee to mcht. Mcht completed its second year of its cornerstone homeownership opportunity program (chip) and received grants totaling 128,000. Mcht was awarded a third year grant of 130,000. The summit county contract was renewed at 50,000 and the park city municipal corporation service agreement was increased to 18,000. Two additional grants were received for mcht's transitional housing program which was increased from 9 units to 12. One was from hud for longer term housing and another from the state's pamela atkinson homeless trust fund. Mcht took over management of the crown at wheeler park project in heber from the wasatch county housing authority. This generates new management fees to mcht. After years of dependence on lines of credit and outside loans for operations, for the first time in several years mcht did not rely on external loans for most of the year and was able to establish an operating account and a development reserve account that should be increasing on an annual basis.”

EIGHT OF THESE TEN LOTS WERE CONVEYED TO PARTICIPANTS BEFORE THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR. MCHT EARNED FORGIVENESS OF 189,000 OF SHOP LOANS FROM HOUSING ASSISTANCE COUNCIL. MCHT COMPLETED FINAL EQUITY FUNDING AND PERMANENT LOANS FOR THE ELMBRIDGE APARTMENT AND PRESTIGE SENIOR LIVING CENTER PROJECT IN HEBER. BOTH PROPERTIES WERE STABILIZED AND ELMBRIDGE GENERATED PAYMENT ON THE DEFERRED DEVELOPMENT FEE TO MCHT.
