Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Guadalupe school has served the educational needs of disadvantaged children and adult immigrants and refugees on salt lake city's west side since 1966. Through education, our programs help students overcome the barriers of poverty, illiteracy, and school failure. Our mission is to transform lives through education.

The mission of guadalupe school is to teach economically disadvantaged children and non-english speaking adults the vision and skills needed to live productive, rewarding lives.

These funds are to be held to generate earnings to benefit the programs of the organization generally.

PART X, LINE 2:

Gep is organized as a utah nonprofit corporation and has been recognized by the internal revenue service (irs) as exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(a) of the internal revenue code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3), qualifies for the charitable contribution deduction under section 170(b)(1)(a)(vi) and (viii), and has been determined not to be a private foundation under sections 509(a)(1) and (3), respectively. The organization is annually required to file a return of organization exempt from income tax (form 990) with the irs. In addition, the organization is subject to income tax on net income that is derived from business activities that are unrelated to its exempt purpose. The organization has determined it is not subject to unrelated business income tax and has not filed an exempt organization business income tax return (form 990-t) with the irs. The organizations would recognize future accrued interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits and liabilities in income tax expense if such interest and penalties are incurred.

THE ENHANCED ELEMENTARY CURRICULUM IS IMPLEMENTED BY INDIVIDUALIZED PROGRAMMING, TEAM-TEACHING, ONE-TO-ONE TUTORING WITH VOLUNTEERS DAILY, COMPUTER SOFTWARE PROGRAMS, AND INTEGRATION OF CURRICULUM INTO DAILY ACTIVITIES.
