The president of the association is elected by members in good standing. The president can only be elected for two consecutive terms of two years. The board is also elected by members of the different schools depending on membership within the schools. Schools with higher membership have more board members. Board members can also be elected for two consecutive two year terms.

The 990 is prepared and presented to the president and the director for review. If any changes are found, then those changes are made, then the president and the director re-review the 990, they then sign and submit it.

Each year the employees of the davis education association are required to sign a conflict of interest policies as part of their employment contract. These contracts are then reviewed by the board and the president for accuracy and completeness. The board maintains records and reviews for any changes in conflicts of interest.
