Grant assistance includes reimbursement for travel to educational conferences and industry events, enrollment in external classes or advanced arts education, and participation in mentored, age-appropriate on-set or professional learning experiences. These activities are designed to support creative skill development, confidence, and informed career exploration, rather than job placement, and are offered in furtherance of the organizations charitable mission. Persons benefited: 32 participants. Expenses Description Expenses for this program consist of program-related scholarships and reimbursements provided to older youth and young adult participants to support continued arts education, workforce readiness, and supervised industry exposure. Through hands-on instruction, mentorship from professional filmmakers, and collaborative team-based projects, participants learn the fundamentals of storytelling and filmmaking while developing creative confidence and finding their voice through visual storytelling. Participants work together to write, film, and edit short films within a limited timeframe, culminating in a red-carpet premiere at a professional theater venue. Meals are provided to support participant engagement throughout the program day and to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment. The program is designed to remove financial barriers and provide equitable access to creative education and mentorship. Persons benefited: Approximately 125 participants. Expenses: Film Challenge Day expenses include transportation for participating youth, meals provided throughout the program day, mentor travel, venue rental for a public film premiere, and program supplies. ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0During the 2024 tax year, the organization experienced a significant increase in fundraising activity and program operations, which required expanded financial tracking and reconciliation. As a small nonprofit organization with limited administrative capacity, additional time was required to compile and review complete and accurate financial records for Form 990-EZ. The delay was not due to willful neglect. Upon completion of the necessary reconciliation, the organization is filing the return as soon as practicable. Internal procedures have since been reviewed to ensure timely filing in future years.
