“Exempt Purpose: The Key Peninsula Healthy Community (KPHC) performs activities of community development, community engagement, and capacity building on the Key Peninsula. Community Development The Key Peninsula Health Community (KPHC) is a community hub organization which strengthens the Key Peninsula by connecting the community. The KPHC does this through trust-building community outreach, leveraging assets and resources, connecting to policy makers, and listening to and acting on the Key Peninsula communitys values and visions. Examples include: twice weekly information updates distributed to over 100 people, agencies, and organizations, community meetings, Key Peninsula specific resource guides created, printed, and distributed to thousands of residents, facilitation and capacity building services to partner organizations, and leveraging funds and resources throughout the community the help partner organizations better serve their clients. Community OutreachCommunity outreach and development are complex activities. The KPHC reaches people where they are at, by connecting through our partners. Community members needed information and assistance through the pandemic from trusted agents. The KPHC won a contract with the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department to provide outreach and two-way communication with KP residents through service provider partnerships. During historically difficult times, this program resulted in a highly successful vaccination project, rapid, timely, and accurate communications, community wide distribution of supplies and Covid tests, and distribution of funds to the same partner service providers for their outreach work.”
