“Great pyrenees advocates of texas (gpat) is a foster based, 501c3 rescue group operating throughout texas. We were established to respond to the extreme number of at-risk great pyrenees dogs and great pyrenees mixes that need our help. Hands on rescue assistance is the cornerstone of our rescue and answers the immediate need of pyrenees in distress. We also believe that community outreach and education about the breed is very important to help alleviate the future, long term suffering of great pyrenees.”

“Artic was an abused/neglected owner surrender. He was chained and contained in a crate that was to small for him. Prior to coming to great pyrenees advocates of texas he was purchased from a puppy mill in cleveland, texas. Because he was fluffy and cute and received and sentenced to this crate. No formal training and he was reactive and not trusting of people due to the neglect/abuse he endured.”

“Gpat has taken in many dogs with severe medical needs. Some due to inhumane treatment or neglect by people. Most are malnourished, heartworm positive and have severe skin conditions like demodex mange and are very sick. Gpat partners with local veterinarians for reduced fees so we can get the care and support needed to nurse them back to health and prepare them for the new life they will have with an approved adopter. Gpat operates solely on donations from our friends and community. We are 100% volunteer based organization.”
