“Program accomplishments consist of funds raised from annual book fair event to accept and resell non-cash contributions (i.e. used book donations) to generate revenue to accomplish charity functions. The labor to conduct all book fair events is provided by members and volunteers at no cost. The most recent book fair event was held in the prior tax year (May 2023), and $9,800 in program service grants were issued this year in the ordinary course of the organization's exempt activities to accomplish its exempt purpose. In December 2023, however, the organization determined that suitable venues for its future fundraising events could not be reliably obtained and decided upon dissolution. A further $35,500 in additional program service grants were made during the dissolution process (as detailed on Schedule N).”
