Form 990, Part III, Line 4D

Program Service Expenses 4,632, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Homebound Women partners with the Tempe Community Action Agency and the Chandler Gilbert Community Center to deliver good cheer, fresh flowers and holiday baskets twice a year to nearly one hundred homebound women in our community who receive home meal deliveries. During 2024, 160 deliveries were made. Since inception, over one thousand baskets of needed household items and fresh flowers have been delivered on these home visits which support the womens emotional needs by knowing someone cares. 13 volunteers provided 165 hours of service for this program.

Form 990, Part III, Line 4D

Program Service Expenses 6,300, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Chemo Companions provides support to individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis, partnering with oncology offices in Phoenix, Tempe, and Chandler. Every Friday our Chemo Companion volunteers visit with people undergoing chemotherapy. Approximately 250 patients had visits this past year. In addition, the Organization provided 200 new start bags filled with blankets, fuzzy socks, hand sanitizer, lotion, snack bars and activities to help pass the time during treatment. Additional support was provided this year by adopting a cancer patient family for the holidays and stocking pantries with non-perishable food items and grocery and gas gift cards to provide assistance to the patients and their families. Our volunteers also participated in adopting 3 families for the Holidays. Items on the families Christmas list were purchased, wrapped and delivered. Nearly 7,500 chemotherapy patients have been comforted over the years. 9 volunteers provided 135 volunteer hours for this program, impacting over 700 patients and their families this year.

Program Service Expenses 7,061, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Supporting Teens in Parenting STIP partners with the TAPP program at Marcos de Niza High School to support pregnant and parenting teens to stay in school, prevent repeated pregnancy, implement effective prenatal and parenting behaviors, and graduate from high school. Since inception, over 700 pregnant and parenting high school students and their families have received support from the Organization. We gather twice a year to celebrate the students continued academic achievements, provide attendance incentives and other supplies as needed to encourage them to stay in school, and sponsor several families during the holidays to provide food and necessities along with some holiday cheer. Our volunteers also maintain a lending library at the school to provide access to age-appropriate books and hosted three literacy challenges to encourage the young moms and dads to read to their littles at home. In addition, we awarded technology scholarships to two graduating seniors who are planning to continue their education after high school. 11 volunteers provided over 140 hours of service.

Program Service Expenses 8,480, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Kids in Transition KIT provides foster teens without permanent placement the dignity of good hygiene. The goal of this project is to provide full-size toiletries to the 2,000 plus teenagers who spend the night at one of the Department of Child Safety after hours facilities because they do not have a home of their own. This past year, KIT provided 600 bags consisting of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, ChapStick, face wash and a clear back pack. These supplies were distributed to the AZ Department of Child Safety. Since inception, the Organization has provided over 4,000 drawstring bags of toiletries for these youths. 13 EVWL volunteers provided 45 hours of service to this program.

Over 16,830 dresses and accessories have been provided in total since the program began. The young ladies may also select shoes, purses and jewelry to complete their prom look, making a once in a lifetime event affordable. IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Scholarships. EVWL awarded 38,000 in scholarships, including two 4-year scholarships. The scholarships are awarded based on financial need, community service, and academic performance to students attending Arizona universities and community colleges. Many single, working mothers rely on these funds to pursue their dreams of a college education. Our Anything is Possible Scholarships are awarded to female students who exhibit service to the community, participate in extracurricular activities, demonstrate financial need and have a minimum grade point average of 2.5. Our Trade Technology Scholarships are awarded to students pursing education in an accredited community college trade or technology certification program. Scholarships awarded through the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation are awarded to single mothers of any age who maintain a 2.8 GPA and demonstrate financial need. Our scholarship endowment at Arizona State University awarded additional scholarships. EVWL has given more than 317,300 in scholarships over the years. 8 volunteers provide 225 hours for the program.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0Setting Up Incredible Teens for Success SUITS provides deserving young men in the East Valley with a suit and accessories for college interviews, job interviews, prom and various other social functions. The program targets young men, usually seniors, at Title I schools in Chandler, Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe. This year 42 young men, selected by teachers and administrators from eighteen East Valley Schools, received a new suit and accessories, including shirt, tie, belt, shoes and socks. 9 volunteers provide 50 hours of service for this program.

During 2024, 160 deliveries were made. Since inception, over one thousand baskets of needed household items and fresh flowers have been delivered on these home visits which support the womens emotional needs by knowing someone cares. 13 volunteers provided 165 hours of service for this program.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1Program Service Expenses 6,300, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Chemo Companions provides support to individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis, partnering with oncology offices in Phoenix, Tempe, and Chandler. Every Friday our Chemo Companion volunteers visit with people undergoing chemotherapy. Approximately 250 patients had visits this past year. In addition, the Organization provided 200 new start bags filled with blankets, fuzzy socks, hand sanitizer, lotion, snack bars and activities to help pass the time during treatment. Additional support was provided this year by adopting a cancer patient family for the holidays and stocking pantries with non-perishable food items and grocery and gas gift cards to provide assistance to the patients and their families. Our volunteers also participated in adopting 3 families for the Holidays. Items on the families Christmas list were purchased, wrapped and delivered. Nearly 7,500 chemotherapy patients have been comforted over the years. 9 volunteers provided 135 volunteer hours for this program, impacting over 700 patients and their families this year.
IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2Program Service Expenses 7,061, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Supporting Teens in Parenting STIP partners with the TAPP program at Marcos de Niza High School to support pregnant and parenting teens to stay in school, prevent repeated pregnancy, implement effective prenatal and parenting behaviors, and graduate from high school. Since inception, over 700 pregnant and parenting high school students and their families have received support from the Organization. We gather twice a year to celebrate the students continued academic achievements, provide attendance incentives and other supplies as needed to encourage them to stay in school, and sponsor several families during the holidays to provide food and necessities along with some holiday cheer. Our volunteers also maintain a lending library at the school to provide access to age-appropriate books and hosted three literacy challenges to encourage the young moms and dads to read to their littles at home. In addition, we awarded technology scholarships to two graduating seniors who are planning to continue their education after high school. 11 volunteers provided over 140 hours of service.

The goal of this project is to provide full-size toiletries to the 2,000 plus teenagers who spend the night at one of the Department of Child Safety after hours facilities because they do not have a home of their own. This past year, KIT provided 600 bags consisting of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, ChapStick, face wash and a clear back pack. These supplies were distributed to the AZ Department of Child Safety. Since inception, the Organization has provided over 4,000 drawstring bags of toiletries for these youths. 13 EVWL volunteers provided 45 hours of service to this program.
