Activity 2

Math Science & Technology FunFest is a collaborative effort between Raytheon SciEnTeK-12 the University of Arizona IBM Honeywell Pima Air & Space Museum US Expo local schools and other partners to show students a real-life perspective of many diverse sciences Professional scientists and mathematicians use a variety of interactive and hands-on workshops to engage and stimulate the students inquisitive nature The impacts of the Funfest are already being realized in an increase o f over 200 additional Science Fair projects being entered in SARSEF annually teachers reserving their trip to the Funfest months in advance and in many other immeasurable ways

Activity 3

International Science & Engineering Fair and International Sustainable World Energy Engineering Environment Project Olympiad are directly affiliated and supported by the SciEnTeK-12 Foundation The Intel ISEF is the worldwide science fair includin g regional winners from every State and around 40 different countries It is for High School students only and normally there are well over 1000 projects at ISEF This is the top prize at SARSEF awarding Four High School projects either individua l or team and two 8th grade observers The 8th Grade observer attends the Intel ISEF with a parent and attends all events except the judging The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair the Worlds largest international pre-college science competition provides an annual forum for more than 1500 high school students from about 70 countries regions and territories to showcase their independent research as they compete for over 3 million annually The Intel ISDF is the premie r global science competition for students in grades 9-12 Project Olympiad has strived and succeeded in increasing student interest in science through classroom activities research and regional state and national tournaments The tournamen ts are rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events which students prepare for during the year These challenging and motivational events are aligned with the national science standards and wel l-balanced between the various science disciplines of earth and space science life science physical science technology and inquiry Olympiad events are designed to use a variety of intellectual and practical skills Most events require science con tent knowledge application of a specific science concept andor scientific inquiry processing An Olympiad team is composed of up to fifteen students for Division B middle school
