“Part III - summary of mission - AIPL is a nonprofit Arizona Corporation whose mission is to provide education for citizens on aspects of effective leadership as well as participation in public forums and civic organizations. Part III line 28 continued: This training includes relationship building, developing organizational ability, planning and implementing development strategies, conducting research and group problem solving. The Institute initiates and creates materials for training and education of citizens, enabling them to manage programs for the improvement of their lifestyles, the betterment of their communities, and the shaping of public life.Recent Highlights 2015-2016Policy Research. AIPL conducted ongoing research into key policies affecting Arizona families. AIPL tracks bills in the state legislature as a basis for the education of community leaders on the impacts of policies, as well as facilitates research meetings with key public officials. Immigrant Integration. AIPL has continued to be supportive of efforts to obtain comprehensive immigration reform as a way to support the preservation of immigrant families dignity and unity. Institutes of Public Life on the Economy. AIPL has collaborated training sessions on the Economy, focusing on the roots of Arizonas budget crisis and illustrate the economic toll of budget cuts to health care, education, and other critical services for working families. Education and Workforce. AIPL leaders advanced workforce training strategies in the states major metro areas. AIPL leaders built relationships with school superintendents and community college presidents and chancellors to explore a strategy about workforce readiness, and have worked with major employers, local business associations, and Chambers of Commerce to identify key high-skill employers and their workforce needs. AIPL also assist leaders to understand state fiscal policy and the role of the public sector and taxation policies regarding Human Development initiatives.Healthcare. AIPL has been supportive of efforts to help people, particularly those without knowledge of the new affordable care act law, enroll in the Healthcare Marketplace, Medicaid and KidsCare. On-Going Leaders. At local leader trainings and retreats, AIPL invested in the capacity of 500 AIN/AIPL leaders. Training focused on preparing leaders to lead presentations, house meetings and propose strategies that address the ongoing economic challenges facing Arizona families.”
