“The board of directors shall be composed of no more than two representatives from each of the member organizations of the dunbar coalition: dunbar alumni association, dunbar/spring neighborhood association, juneteenth festival committee, tucson urban league and any members at large that are nominated by the membership.”
“A member of the board of directors shall be an individual with an interest in the mission of the dunbar coalition, and with sufficient knowledge, experience, perspective, dedication, skills or other qualities to assist in that mission, who has been recommended to the board for membership by one of the member organizations of the dunbar coalition or by at least three current members of the board of directors.”

“The conflict of interest policy applies to all members and directors of dunbar coalition (dc). A member who has a conflict of interest in a specific matter, whether arising from a personal or financial interest, should immediately make the interest known to the appropriate council or the board, and a written notification of the conflict should be filed in the official records of dc. The conflict should also be declared at the meeting at which the subject is to be discussed and included in the minutes of the meeting. In addition to disclosure, a member who has a conflict of interest resulting from a financial interest, other than a remote interest, in a policy decision, contract, sale, purchase or service to dc must refrain from participating in the decision-making process in any way. Members of the dc board of directors are required to submit an annual disclosure statement to disclose any personal or financial interests that have a reasonable likelihood to create, or to appear to create, a conflict of interest with dc, and any current business relationships involving dc.”
“Dunbar's executive director compensation is determined through data gleaned from the guidestar nonprofit compensation report. Guidestar is the nonprofit sectors clearinghouse for information and operation standards. The compensation report is a review of executive employee compensation at more than 113,000 nonprofit organizations nationwide. It relies exclusively on data derived from the guidestar database of digitized irs form 990 and 990-ez information. This benchmark information for executive salary in organizations of similar budget size, overlaid with credentials of candidate, was used by the executive committee to determine executive director salary. The salary was then approved by the entire board of directors.”
