“Part III : What is the organizations primary exempt purpose?The purpose of the Phoenix National Charity League (NCL) is to inspire and empower women to succeed as confident, well-rounded and socially aware contributors in our community. Our mission is to foster mother-daughter relationships in a philanthropic organization committed to community service, leadership development and cultural experiences. The membership consists of young women from 7th 12th grades and their mothers. Part III #28 the first NCL pillar is Community Service: The Phoenix Chapter partners with 15 local charities. Our mother-daughter teams learn about, volunteer for, and assist in leadership roles with our charity partners in a variety of service opportunities and events. In the 2018-19 fiscal year, our chapter served the charities with a total of 5,884 service hours which averages 23 philanthropy hours per member. Part III #29 the second pillar of NCL is Leadership Development: As the daughters progress from 7th- 12th grades, they learn leadership skills through their grade level meetings, chapter meetings, philanthropies and various chapter events. The girls serve various officer roles throughout their NCL journey. The girls learn about team building, parliamentary procedures, officer training, meeting conduct, charity project planning, event planning, budgeting, and public speaking. The chapter and grades also bring in various speakers to help the girls build leadership and social skills. Part III #30 the third pillar of NCL is obtaining Cultural Experiences: As the daughters progress from 7th 12th grade, they learn cultural experiences and social graces by attending various art, museum, music and theater events in addition to hosting and attending chapter meetings, teas and recognition events.”
