“The organization has the following membership categories active, affiliate, student, and honorary. Active members must be professional registered nurses licensed in the u.s. Or a registered nurse, licensed or equivalent, outside of the u.s. All active members have the right to vote, hold elected office, and serve on committees. Affiliate members are individuals who are not registered nurses and who support the mission and objectives of ena. Affiliate members have the rights and privileges of ena membership, except the right to vote and hold elected office. Student members are individuals enrolled in a nursing education program leading to eligibility for registered nurse licensure. Student members have the rights and privileges of ena membership, except the right to vote and hold elected office. Honorary membership may be awarded to an individual as determined by the ena president and ena board of directors. Honorary members have the rights and privileges of ena membership, except the right to vote and hold elected office.”

“Each member in good standing, other than affiliate, student, or honorary members, vote on the organizations officers. Elections are done on a one member one vote basis.”

“Amendments to the organizations bylaws require approval from the membership body.”

“The treasurer of the organization distributes a pdf copy of the 990 return to all board members for review and comment prior to being filed. At the first meeting of the board following the filing of the 990 with the irs, the complete form 990 is presented to the board by the organizations lead officers with responsibility over the form 990s review thereafter, questions are taken and the form, its preparation, and its public relation impact is discussed.”

“At each board and committee meeting, if there is a discussion of selecting or engaging a vendor or service provider, all in attendance are asked to recuse themselves from this discussion if there could be a perceived conflict. Annually, the organization reviews and discusses the conflict of interest policy and requests that each board member list and acknowledge any known conflicts.”

“The organization will provide in a timely manner, copies of all governing documents including its conflict of interest policies and financial statements when requested in writing or in person.”

“Other fees for services the organization hires instructors for classes and speakers to present at meetings.”
