“Over the past year, the arizona society of eye physicians surgeons aseps has made significant strides in advocacy, education, and professional development. One of the key highlights was glaucoma day at the arizona capitol, where aseps provided free glaucoma screenings to legislators using their mobile eye unit. Following the screenings, ophthalmologists and policymakers engaged in meaningful discussions over lunch, fostering important dialogue on healthcare policy. Aseps also hosted a successful grand canyon regional ophthalmology conference in flagstaff, bringing together nearly 100 attendees and 24 exhibitors. The event featured expert speakers who shared cutting edge advancements in eye surgery, ensuring members stay at the forefront of the field. Additionally, aseps supported the next generation of ophthalmologists by sending residents to the mid-year forum of american academy of ophthalmology where they gained firsthand experience in advocacy and learned how to champion issues impacting eye care nationwide. With these achievements, aseps continues to strengthen the ophthalmology community in arizona and beyond.”
