“The form 990 is first reviewed by the executive director. The finalized copy of the form is delivered to the board members via email for review. The executive director is responsible for signing the form 990 after review for inclusiveness and accuracy.”

“Dna's by-laws (as amended on 2/16/2019), section 109 states: "membership on the board of directors demands fidelity to dna, and a director shall avoid any conflict of interest, real or apparent..." section 10 states: (a) members of the board of directors may be removed for cause, including but not limited to dishonest acts, abuse of authority, neglect of duty, or conflict of interest. (b) removal for cause shall be by vote as set forth in the by-laws. The member shall be given resonable opportunity to appear and defend against removal" all dna board members receive the by-laws when they join the board, and the by-laws are public record. Key employees must abide by the personnel policies and procedures manual, and in accordance with section xxiv. For each applicant, dna suport staff will run a conflict check in kemp's/prime database. The rules of professional responsiblity specifically prohibit dna from representing anyone against a current client, and from representing anyone against a former client in the same or substantially related matter. If the support staff runs the conflict check, and believes a conflict of interest exists, (s)he will consult wtih the managing attorney, or the litigator assigned to handle conflicts that day. If, after consultation, it is determined that representation of the applicant is a conflict of interest, the support staff will give the applicant dna's sheet on "conflicts of interest." in no event will support staff turn away a client based on a potential conflict of interest without first consulting with the managing attorney or his/her designee, and such a determination is made. When there is more than one litigator in an office, the managing attorney will create a rotating schedule under which a litigator will be assigned to handle emergencies on a given day. If an employee does outside practice of law (which is minimal, and only in accordance with lscv regs), the personnel policies & procedures manual prohibits that client from being a conflict of interest for dna, or a current or former dna client. All employess are oriented on the pp&p manual when they start work, and all sign a certification that they've read the pp&p manual and agree to abide by it. Also, all attorneys, when they're sworn into their various jurisdictions, swear to abide by that jurisdiction's rules of professional responsibiltiy, including conflicts of interest. Also, dna's articles of incorporation, article iii, section 2 states: no part of the assets or any net earnings of this corporation...shall inure to the benefit of any private member of this corporation or any other individual. Section 5 prohibits dna from engaging in any prohibited transactions described in section 501(c)(3) of the irs code, nor in any transactions described in ars 43-148(b). All dna board members receive the articles of incorporation when they join the board, and they are public record to anyone. In 2019, the board adopted a conflict of interest policy and each board member has read and signed the policy.”
