“According to its certificate of formation, midcity accelerator foundation, inc. (the corporation) is organized exclusively to promote cultural, scientific, literary, educational, environmental, conservation, civic, professional, social, and charitable purposes. The corporation educates both artists and musicians, as well as aspiring entrepreneurs, in best practices for their respective fields. In doing so, the corporation provides instruction and training of individuals for the purpose of improving or developing their capabilities and provides instruction to the public on subjects useful to the individual and beneficial to the community. The corporation also seeks to accomplish charitable purposes by providing programming that helps provide relief to the poor, distressed, and underprivileged in a manner that also promotes social welfare by combatting community deterioration, lessening neighborhood tensions, eliminating prejudice and discrimination, and combatting juvenile delinquency. The corporation does this by empowering creative and entrepreneurial individuals to improve their communities, both through the arts and through entrepreneurial endeavors. 100% of the corporation's time is allocated to this activity, and the activity is funded by a mixture of donations and grants. The corporation will combat community deterioration through educational programming. The corporation believes that supporting entrepreneurs and artists can bridge cultural divides, develop distressed communities, lessen juvenile delinquency, drive learning and innovation, and strengthen the ties that artists and entrepreneurs have to the communities in which they live. With startup accelerator programs focused on the advancement of technology, music, and art, the corporation's mission broadly promotes overall cultural and community development. The corporation's startup accelerator programs, which are open to the general public, are currently focused on providing educational and related supportive services to musicians, visual artists, and entrepreneurs. The corporation also intends to conduct more specialized instruction and training for individuals and teams who apply and commit to attending a series of classes and startup accelerator programs. These startup accelerator programs will include instructional and training programs on various topics tailored to the individual participants' needs. In the process, the corporation will enrich the community's cultural and economic life, as the opportunity to participate in the accelerator and its associated programming will provide visibility to the participating artists and entrepreneurs. The corporation's individualized programming will lessen neighborhood tensions by empowering communities to harness existing resources to create meaningful employment opportunities.
