PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS:Estimated investment: $33,130.48 in cash (plus overhead allocation) and $78,400 in in-kind contributions Sandy Bodecker Project, Inc. partners with professional artists, musicians, designers, and educators to provide free, multidisciplinary creative workshops that expand access to high-quality arts education, particularly for individuals from underrecognized communities. Our mission is to amplify the voices, ideas, and creative potential of emerging problem solvers. In 2024, the organization delivered 23 programs and in-person events, serving 258 participants at our headquarters located at 2360 NW Quimby Street in Portland, Oregon. We also collaborated with Portland Community College, De La Salle North Catholic High School, Portland Public Schools, and the N M Bodecker Creative Foundation to broaden program access throughout the Portland metro area. Workshop disciplines in 2024 included songwriting, beat making and recording, audio engineering, tattoo art and design, filmmaking, costume design, graphic design, product design, and related creative fields. Participants were referred through Portland Public Schools, regional school districts, and 501(c)(3) partner organizations including De La Salle North Catholic High School, Portland Community College, Nordia House, and Sandy Bodecker Project,Inc.-$36,910
INTERNSHIPS:Estimated in-kind contributions received: $31,800In 2024, Sandy Bodecker Project, Inc., in partnership with the N M Bodecker Creative Foundation, hosted four De La Salle North Catholic High School students for a five-month internship. Students supported creative projects, developed workplace skills, and gained exposure to careers in the arts and creative sectors. This internship was part of De La Salle North Catholic High Schools Joseph the Worker Corporate Internship Program, which integrates weekly, real-world work experience into the nine-month school year. Through this program, students work with local employers in entry-level professional roles, strengthening practical skills, advancing career readiness, and contributing toward the cost of their education. In addition to the De La Salle North Catholic High School Corporate Work Study internship program, the organization also hosted a summer internship for one emerging creative to support early career development.--
ARTISTS & MUSICIANS IN RESIDENCE:Estimated in-kind contributions received: $32,280In 2024, Sandy Bodecker Project, Inc., in partnership with the N M Bodecker Creative Foundation, supported artist and musician residencies at The Bodecker Foundations headquarters at 2360 NW Quimby Street in Portland,Oregon. The facility includes dedicated creative spaces reserved exclusively for Artists and Musicians in Residence, who are invited to work on designated projects during their residency period. Residencies may include access to Halfling Studio, the on-site recording studio, along with engineering and production support. In exchange, residents contribute to the community by leading a youth workshop, panel discussion, or salon event for adult participants. In 2024, the organization provided a total of 24 residency days to artists, musicians, composers, and filmmakers, including David J (Bauhaus); performers and dancers in partnership with Third Angle New Music, writer Deborah Stoll, Sam Hamilton for Te Moana Meridian, artist Delbar Shahbaz, skateboarder Willis Kimbel with filmmaker Mark Palansky, and filmmaker and director Morgan Cooper.--
