Tucson hebrew home realty exists to provide, operate, and maintain a home or homes for elderly persons in order to provide them with suitable living accommodations, facilities for dining, facilities for medical treatment, nursing care, and other services especially designed to meet their spiritual, mental, physical, social, and psychological needs.

FORM 990, PART III, LINE 4A, PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Tucson hebrew home realty (thhr) provides lodging and other facilities and services to needy low and moderate income elderly persons. Thhr owns certain real property located in pima county, arizona, which real property is improved with a 94-bed skilled nursing facility, a 93-bed assisted living facility, and a 12-unit independent living facility. Thhr leases the property to handmaker jewish services for the aging (hjsa), a related 501(c)(3) organization, for an annual lease amount of $1.6 million. This leasing activity is in furtherance of thhr's charitable purposes, and the lease payments from hjsa to thhr represent collective amounts attributable to each of the residents of the facility. Hjsa continues to operate the facility to conduct its activities. The charitable purposes of thhr and hjsa are aligned, as the operation of the property by both organizations serve needy low and moderate-income elderly persons.
