MISSION: The Center for Success puts collaborating institutions and partnering education stakeholders at the cutting edge of school reform by convening education partners to share best practices to recruit prepare and sustain talented and diverse teachers and leaders to serve low-income and marginalized students and high need schools as well as to provide opportunities and access to immersive engaging academic cultural and enrichment college bound activities and experiences that ensure the students in high need schools will succeed in post-secondary education. VISION: To prepare highest quality teachers for high need schools and provide an array of educational and social supports for students in these schools by developing and sustaining immersion experiences in education where college students aspiring to be teachers have real world experience in high need communities while simultaneously serving PK-12 students who aspire to be college bound.

Junior Senior Scholars and Promise Teacher Corp Junior Senior Scholars is the pipeline delivering increasing support as children grow from elementary school to middle school to high school and into college and it is supported by strong relationships and foundational components that engage parents and family and make them partners in the education enterprise. Primary grades engage in puppet shows and family receptions that build an awareness of college as an attainable goal.In grades 3-8 students engage in weekly after school enrichment experiences and a four week immersive summer camp. High school students also participate in after school enrichment experiences and the summer camp. They also have monthly visits to universities and cultural institutions and work with mentors to prepare them for college applications and success. The program is staffed by Promise Teachers college students preparing to teach in high need schools. This program serves approx 200 students annually.$0$82,247
Project LEAD Leaders in Education Advocating for Diversity Equity and Inclusion is a collaborative endeavor that brings faculty and diverse students from multiple campuses together to build a structure and toolbox to: Identify and explore the demographics of the teacher and student pipeline and collaborate to improve the numbers alignment so that more students across Illinois experience a diverse teacher and teachers who are allies supporting diversity equity and inclusion; Understand and celebrate the value of a diverse pool of teacher candidates to all students teachers schools and districts; Celebrate the profession of teaching & inspire others to celebrate and elevate teaching; Increase and support the number of talented and diverse candidates of color who become teachers and the significant contributions they make to the profession; Network & collaborate with approx 400 faculty and students across each campus and from campus to campus and along with education stakeholders.$0$11,250
Center Partnerships and Task Forces Center Partnership and Task Force meetings which convene more than 40 deans chairs directors and education faculty as well as PK-12 administrators and teachers and leading educators to explore key issues in preparation practice teaching learning and leadership. Our current work includes advocating for equity and diversity implementing culturally responsive practices growing teacher leadership and effecting rigorous recruitment clinical preparation and retention policies and practices.The task forces are: Teacher Leader Research Group the Writing Collective Culturally Responsive Teacher and Leader Standards Program Assessment ,Accountability Accreditation and Policy Task Force and the Professional Development Network.The partnerships and task forces serve approximately 300 college faculty PK-12 teachers and leaders and preservice teachers.$0$1,458
