“All Coalition for Americas' Health (CLAS) members sign a no-Conflict of Interest declaration before they are accepted as members. All contracts with consultants include a statement regarding Conflicts of Interest. Donors that provide funding to CLAS have us sign contracts that have Conflict of Interest clauses. Conflicts of Interest are consistently monitored by CLAS and members. Donors and allies are attentive. When Conflicts of Interest have been observed in any member of our community, a small group is assigned to review and evaluate the best approach to address it.”
“The CEO is a consultant and is paid only when donors provide project funding that requires the expertise of the CEO. Compensation is limited by donor funding.Consultants are paid according to level of expertise, competition, location. We evaluate what others with similar tasks are earning as consultants. There are always limitations based on donor funding.”

“The Organization is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. For the year ended December 31, 2024, the Organization had no material unrelated business income. Accordingly, no provision has been made for federal income tax.GAAP requires the evaluation of tax positions taken in the course of preparing the Organizations tax returns and recognition of a tax liability (or asset) if the Organization has taken an uncertain position that more likely than not would not be sustained upon examination by the Internal Revenue Service. Management has analyzed the tax positions taken by the Organization, and has concluded that as of December 31, 2024, there are no uncertain tax positions taken or expected to be taken that would require recognition of a liability (or asset) or disclosure in the financial statements.”
